Is morality possible without religion — or is it stronger without it?

One of the most common claims believers make is that morality depends on God. Yet history shows that secular ethics, humanism, and reasoned principles work without divine command. Some would even argue that morality becomes stronger without appeals to authority.

Where do you stand? Do atheists build morality on a firmer foundation?
